Frozen Green Peas

The product is prepared from fresh sound raw material that is free from all toxic residues and taints and shall comply with all check measures of Igloo Frozen Foods. Peas are delivered fresh to the factory. Each load is sampled and assessed for the grade, foreign material and physical defects. The product is blanched to give a trace positive peroxidase reaction between 60 and 90 seconds. Frozen peas palletainers are then labelled and transferred to the cold store where they are stored at minus 23-degree centigrade until required for packing.During packing the peas are inspected before weighing and filling into poly-lined cartons. The uniform size of peas would be 9 to 11 mm in diameter. The peas are double sorted and graded to ensure that the uniformity of size is maintained.The cartons are best before and production date coded, check weighed and metal detected, palletised and stretch wrapped before being returned to store at minus 23-degree centigrade to await dispatch. The master carton carries 12 packets of retail packs which are finally delivered to the first customer.
